Getting Started With Gazo
Gazo makes it easy and fun to organize your digital images in desktop albums.
The program is so intuitive, you hardly need any instruction at all.
You can make your own custom albums with all the functions you want in minutes!
Everything is a click away
Whether on the bookshelf or in an album - right click your mouse to see the full menu. The menu gives you access to all of Gazo's functions - creating albums, accessing and editing images, adding overlays and creating animated gifs, adding sound and text, exporting your images to the web, creating slideshows, and more. The menu is available from wherever you are inside the program. Everything is a click away.
If you are not familiar with a process, go to the Help section for assistance. A Glossary section is available inside the Help section.
The Bookshelf
When you open Gazo, the first thing you'll see is your bookshelf stocked with a number of albums. A few of these are filled with program information and files. The ones labeled "New Album" are empty and ready for your use. You can add your own images to any existing album and rename it. You can create as many new albums as you wish.
At the top right of the shelf you will see a colored box. By clicking on this box you can change the color scheme of your album covers.

Use the hand that appears on the bookshelf when you move your mouse over it to move your bookshelf anywhere on the desktop. Click on the album and drag it to wherever you want it to be. Be sure to keep the hand on the top frame of the bookshelf, or you will be affecting the albums themselves.

You can easily resize your bookshelf by moving your mouse over the left, right, or bottom frame of the bookshelf until the hand becomes a double arrow. Then click and drag your mouse inwards to make it smaller, outwards to make it larger until your bookshelf is the desired size.

Create a Custom Album

Let's begin by creating your first album. To do this you can:

- right click on any album, select Bookshelf, then Create New Album

- or click on an album labeled "New Album" to open it, then right click and select Album, then Album Style Settings.
You have 3 page layout options from which to choose. Option #1 gives you 4 pictures to a page and allows you to add text and sound. It also allows you to choose from a selection of page textures and colors.
You'll notice that in Option #1 mode, a small color box is located at the top right of the window. Clicking on this box is another way to change the album page texture and color.
Option #2 gives you 8 pictures to a page and you have the same texture choices as in #1.
Page Layout Option #3 gives you a continuous page of pics. The number that can be viewed on your computer screen at one time is determined by the size of your monitor. In this option, there is no page texture option available. But you do have the ability to make each thumbnail pic whatever pixel dimensions you choose.
Clicking on a thumbnail in an album will open it to its full size.
Once you have made your selection, click OK. We've chosen Page Layout Style #1, so that we will be able to use the sound and text options.
Albums can be combined.simply by using your mouse to drag one into the other!

You can lock an album - making it impossible for anyone to open it with out the password that you specified.

Right click on the album you want to lock. Click on Album, then Password. Type in your password and click OK. If you wish you can remove the password at anytime, thereby unlocking your album.

Add Images

Right click your mouse to see all the menu options. You'll notice that the very first option is Add Images. A good place to start.

Make your selection. You can select images from a folder, file, or TWAIN (digital camera or scanner). The image will appear in the picture cell that was selected when you chose the image. The selected cell is highighted by an animated colored bar.

You can put several images into your album at once, even drop an entire folder into an album. Gazo will automatically line up your pics into the image cells.

Edit Images
Right click again and you'll notice the Image option. By choosing Edit you can make some useful and interesting changes to your image.

Just for fun, go to Transform, and then Sphere, one of several edit options. Remember, if you're not happy with the results you can always use the Delete Image option to delete the image and start anew.

Add Sound
Now let's use the Sound function. First make sure your microphone is functioning and properly attached to the computer.
Right click and select Record Sound. (Or click on the microphone alongside the selected image.) Remember to select the image to which you want to attach sound before you begin.
A message window will open. When you are ready to record, click the Record button. When you have finished recording, click the Stop button. You may need to record a few times to reach a comfortable sound level.
After you have listened back to make sure you're happy with the results, close the window. You'll be asked if you want to make changes to your file. This simply means that the copy of the image file you have placed in the album now has sound attached. The original image remains intact. Click Yes.
You'll now notice that the megaphone alongside the selected image is bright yellow. This indicates that sound is attached to the image.
Add Text
Now if you want a printed message to appear alongside the image, click on the image of pencil and paper located below the image of the microphone, or right click and select Text, then Edit Text.
Type your text in the white box that appears in the album window.
As you type, the text will appear alongside the image. When you are finished typing your message, click OK.
Now that you have started creating your own custom album, let's give it your own title. From anywhere on the album on the bookshelf, or on an album page, right click to access the menu. Click on Album, then Change Title. Type in your title and click OK.
